![]() Assist Record Celebration ![]() At our school we always try to celebrate all of our players accomplishments. Here is what we did when one of the guys broke an 11 year old assist record. When we found out that Jay was going to break this record while at an away game, we made sure we took posters and had a mom handy to take pictures. Even though this game was 80 miles away we still had a group of dedicated fans show up for it. Before the game we told them that Jay would break the record on his second assist and asked them to help us keep track of this. We asked them to signal us the second he broke the record by holding up one of our posters and making as much noise as possible. We think Jay and his family were surprised when we opened up our posters and the crowd cheered as he reached this great milestone in his high school basketball career. The next night we were back home and our Athletic Director had a plaque made up for Coach Fox to give to Jay. We made sure to get a picture of him with his very proud parents. We also got a picture of him with the Varsity cheerleaders, who were holding up his signs. I designed a special t-shirt for him. It had the numbers 1 - 377 on the front. The shirt also had his name and the date on the back.
