Jump Practice

If you want to improve your jumps then you need to practice them every day. We spend twenty minutes of every practice working on our jumps. Mrs. Taylor has us do this right after warm-ups/stretching when we are the least tired. (make sure you stretch out enough so you don't pull anything!) We form three or four lines and then she will count Eight-counts for us to jump with. Sometimes she'll use music, which makes it a little more fun.

Practicing our jumps always helps us increase our height on jumps. Even the girls with amazing toe-touches get better. Practicing the jumps together with the Eight-count also improves our timing. When we do floor cheers our jumps are very close together. We always get a lot of great comments about how high and together our jumps are.

These pictures of jumps are just two weeks into practice, and everybody's jumps had already improved. The pictures of the group jumps are from our first game and are very together.

This girl has never cheered until this year! She's doing great.
