Christmas Basketballs In October we made cute little pumpkins for our team using old tennis balls. This month we have found something else to do with old tennis balls. All you need are some old tennis balls, spray paint, a mini Santa hat, glue, and press on lettering I gave each tennis ball two heavy coats of spray paint. If yellow is still showing through you might have to spray the tennis balls 3 or 4 times. When you use spray paint always spray outside. I spray in a box because this keep the paint mist from getting all over everything. I tried several shades of orange and brown. I ended up using this "Red Oxide Primer" I bought at Wal-mart. If you are not too artistic you can use stick on letters. They look nice and are easy to use. I used regular school glue for gluing on the hat. If one of your cheer moms has beautiful handwriting you can have her use a paint pen and write on each tennis ball. These turned out really nice and I think the guys will like them.
